Objective

Most Black Jack players will tell you the only object of the game is to get a total as close to 21 as possible without going over.  To some extent this is true.  I would like to reinforce a more militant approach to the game, stating the objective is strictly to beat the dealer. I make this stratification for a reason.  If you hold a hand with a total of 14 and the dealer is showing a 3, you should always stay!  The odds indicate a hit endangers your chance of going over 21 in a scenario when the dealer might also do the same.  By staying on this total, you increase your chances of beating the dealer.  Notice how this approach is different than trying to get ‘closer to 21.’
